Building Healthier Communities - One Person at a Time!

At Murphy’s Pharmacies, committment to the local community is not just lip service. Everyday we invest in local communities by supporting health and wellness initiatives. As part of this commitment, Murphy’s Pharmacies operates Murphy’s Health Education Centre - an independent multi-disciplinary healthcare facility offering health programs and services to Islanders.

These services complement the provincial health care system and are designed to contribute to the overall health of Islanders. As a Murphy’s customer, you have access to pharmacy health clinics, counselling from registered dieticians, programs on prevention and management of chronic illnesses, diabetes forums, and seminars on the latest in health and wellness. We strive to have all services accessible in your local community.

Murphy’s Pharmacies also contributes to the physical, emotional, spiritual, and social health of Islanders through Murphy’s Community Centre - a non profit recreation facility proudly supported by Murphy’s Pharmacies. Located in downtown Charlottetown, the facility is utilized by people of all ages as a sports and recreation facility, fitness centre, music stage, bowling centre, and conference and banquet facility.
The programs and services offered at Murphy’s Community Centre benefit youth, families, new immigrants, and various social groups.

Donation Requests:
While our primary focus at Murphy’s Pharmacies is to provide health and wellness programs through Murphy’s Community Centre and Murphy’s Health Education Centre, other donation requests are considered.

Our contribution to community programs is based on the needs of individuals and groups and the effect it will have on the overall physical, social, intellectual, spiritual, and emotional health of Islanders and our communities.

Our community support guidelines to be considered for a donation are listed below:

1) Support is given to events and programs that take place on Prince Edward Island to improve the health of our communities.

2) Priority is given to registered charities.

3) Special emphasis will be given to those who are in a socioeconomic group that would not be able to fulfill their goal without support. Emphasis is also given to requests pertaining to early childhood education, as well as programs that support our business philosophy of building healthier communities.

4) We do not support programs or groups that enable other businesses to profit and grow from our contributions.

5) We do not consider individual or team sports sponsorships at this time.
